it is somewhat unique; the MC is, contrary to the insinuations by the title, not that much of a chuunibyou. His goal is to be an anti-hero who will one day kill the Hero (the person supposed to kill the Demon King), and he's not the sort who mindlessly kills people without hesitation.
so some shady group comes and slaughters the village for some reason (probably will be explained later), then the kid's father sacrifices himself for no reason (considering they were already willing to take in the MC). there also seems to be something like a title that the MC inherited from his game account, which seems to have the potential to tap into abilities that the MC is unable to use right now
so this talking cat used to be a normal cat but then it got possessed by some indolent spirit from the demon world....but damn, that would explain why that ninja suddenly committed all those crime.....but then, how does did it still retain its memories of the village and of the MC? perhaps he was possessed early on...
